Is it time for a new living room floor? Maybe your current flooring is beginning to show its age through wear and tear… or just a distractingly outdated pattern. Now you have the chance to start over and begin again with a floor covering that really reflects you and your family. At Cherry Hill Floor Coverings International, you we understand that you have a lot of different ideas weighing on your mind as you evaluate your living room flooring options. You want flooring that matches your style and will hold up for years… but you are also concerned about the effects your choices have on the environment. Fortunately, there are a variety of eco-friendly and attractive living room flooring options to fit a number of different lifestyles. Check out three of our favorites below.
Living Room Flooring Options
Bamboo. Bamboo flooring has been rapidly growing in popularity in recent years. Although technically a grass, this flooring product is sustainable while still offering many of the benefits of hardwood. In fact, it even rates a 1762 on the Janka Hardness scale; that beats out North American Maple, Caribbean Walnut, and Royal Mahogany. This durable floor covering naturally comes in a very light color, allowing it to be dyed in a wide array of coloration and styles. Wool Carpet. Carpet is among the most popular living room flooring options, but not all carpeting is made equally! Although some carpet is made using compounds that are harmful to the environment, wool is a natural resource that can be spun and dyed any color! Wool rugs are extremely durable and, when cared for properly, can last centuries, making this floor covering an investment for the generations. Wool carpeting is also soft and comfortable, adding a cozy effect to any living room. P.E.T. Berber Carpet. Wool isn’t your only eco-friendly carpet option, though. Polyester Berber (P.E.T) is another great option. Made out of recycled plastic bottles, it has a minimal impact on the environment. It also offers impressive durability and resistance to staining. Berber carpeting also comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns, making it easy to match with your decorating scheme. Although Berber is not quite as soft as wool carpeting, it may be a more economical choice for many families. Want to learn more about any of these living room flooring options?
